about

After a bad breakup, many of us chose to wallow in what we don't have anymore, glorify things that weren't ever that great, forget about the reasons that things weren't working and so on. Being a songwriter affords us the opportunity to share all those things with the world if we feel like putting pen to paper. After a particular breakup that I went through, I had an interseting reaction. I wanted to write a song, but not so much about him or my anger, but more about how I was going to be OK. I realized what went on with that relationship wasn't important anymore. What was important was what kind of a person I was going to be without it. A big, wide open life right there in front of me.
Fabulous.

lyrics

Bitter Song

Someone has stepped on my heart for the billionth time
I should get up, stand up and face it
Before a part of me dies
I could go on drinking this whiskey all night long
But the words just get bitter and I'm tired of a bitter song

If you see me alone don't be afraid, I'll be OK
'Cause it's been a wild ride, I'll be alright, this time

Downtown, I look around and see that everything is clear
What a mess you had made dragging me down for all
Those years
Now the sun shines brighter and the clouds are whiter
And the wind is picking up speed
Pushing me forward, I've no more delusions to feed

If you see me alone don't be afraid, I'll be OK
'Cause it's been a wild ride, I'll be alright, this time

So c'mon, c'mon, c'mon...Bring it on
C'mon, 'cause I won't sing the bitter song

If you see me alone don't be afraid, I'll be OK
'Cause it's been a wild ride, I'll be alright this time
If you see me tonight, I don't want to fight
I'm feeling alright
'Cause it's been a wild ride, I'll be alright, this time
Well alright, alright, alright, alright
