When I moved to Austin from San Francisco, I guess I was pretty exhausted, because I found myself unable to launch back into the music career right away. I had a very long dry spell of not being able to conjure up the muse and then I realized that what I needed to write about was the very thing that was haunting me.

This old guitar is like a stranger in my arms
It’s all dusty and I fear it hates me so
The strings are black and the wood it feels cold
As I try to sing a song from long ago

Make you forget all the things you were bound to
